LEADERSHIP TEAM
The leadership team consists of two like-minded families who share one another's dreams and passions to drive the Kingdom of God forward. We seek a team approach to leadership in that it balances out giftedness, leadership style, and approach to ministry.
The Keiths
Jeff was born March 3, 1971 in San Ramon, California and has lived most of his life between northern and southern California. He chose to follow Christ in 1974 when he was led to Christ by his mom. Jeff has served as a youth pastor at Mariners church in Irvine, California and as an associate pastor at Newport Mesa church in Costa Mesa, California. Jeff is passionate about leadership, unifying the church, and outreach. Shannon was born in Riverside, California on November 3, 1974. She chose to follow Christ in 1987 when she was a freshman in high school. Shannon has been alongside Jeff in ministry all around the world in association to his ministry responsibilities of local and global outreach. She was employed as a sales rep for 7 years. Shannon is currently on the board of Indian Princess Project, a non-profit ministry she started that reaches women in India who have been forced into prostitution. Jeff and Shannon were married on October 14, 2000. They have twins (Siena and Jackson). Realizing their passions, their cross-cultural gifts, their calling, they looked for places to join God in beginning a whole new thing. After exploring several opportunities, Bend was the place to be. Their heart is to not just start a church but to start a movement.
The Engels
Dave is passionate about empowering people to use their natural abilities, past experiences, personal interests to become the leaders God envisions them to be. This commitment is fruit of his love for Jesus and the significant investment people have made in Dave's life over the years. Jennifer shares Dave's desire to encourage emerging leaders and is especially enthusiastic about how God uses nature and music to speak to a person's heart. Dave was born in Rockford, IL in 1970 and Jennifer in San Francisco in 1968. Between them, they have lived in seven different states and spent time in 35 countries. They both placed their faith in Jesus as children. They met at Biola University where they both graduated with degrees in Christian Education. Dave earned a Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary and a diploma in Spanish Studies through the Cervantes Institute in Barcelona. They have served on staff at churches in California and Colorado, working in student ministries and global outreach. They spent five years training and mentoring leaders in Spain. They treasure their cross culture experiences which have provided special friendships and a global perspective. They have three children, ages 12, 9 and 5. They both love spending time as a family and with friends. Dave enjoys all types of sports and outdoor recreation, traveling, and reading. Jen delights in hiking, water sports and being in outdoor settings as much as possible.
